I would love to lead nature hikes, especially mountain trails. I'd love to get people out to see the Gatineau hills! Also, it might be fun to go stargazing!

I would make a good PCOCC exec because I am passionate about the outdoors - spending time outside is one of my favourite things. I think it is important to share this with as many people as possible. I care about sharing my love for the outdoors and helping people get outside, and I have concrete ideas for events that create these opportunities.

As one of the 2025-2026 co-presidents, I learned a lot about how the club works, what we do well, and what needs to be improved. I have concrete ideas on how to plan more efficiently and work better as a team, including timelines that help us be ready for events minimum 3 weeks in advance.

Another reason that I would make a good PCOCC exec is that I have the skills and experience needed to run outdoor trips. As a camp staff, I have co-led campers on a four-night hiking trip, and I have helped to plan out and execute the details of canoe trips with family and friends. This has included tasks like booking sites months in advance and rerouting when our hiking trail was flooded. I have also completed training like Wilderness First Aid and NL that enables me to be more aware of potential safety hazards and how to respond when they arise.

As well, I work well both in a team and individually. I have been on committees and have led and participated in effective planning sessions. I can take initiative and ask for help when I need it. Working well with others means setting boundaries to maintain healthy relationships and good self-care, and respecting others’ boundaries. It also means being flexible and aware of the needs of everyone around you and being open to accommodations as needed. I keep these things in mind throughout my life and this would extend to my leadership as a PCOCC exec.

Million dollar idea: Make sure everyone in the world who wants to can live in a forest

Stuck in the wilderness: Hope the moose likes music and improvise.

Favourite outdoor activities: hiking, skating, sitting in the sun

Qualifications: Wilderness First Aid, NL, camp counsellor & trip leader, Bruce Trail End-to-Ender

I would like to be co-president because I love what PCOCC stands for and I think that I have a lot to bring to this role. I enjoy organizing, and I have lots of ideas on how to lead an exec team in a way that will reduce stress and help make us more flexible. This includes things like doing more paperwork over the summer so that we can focus on running events during the school year, and making it fun and possible for members to be involved in some of the planning as well if interested. My learning in this role this past year has given me a good grasp on how the club works, and I would love to help steer PCOCC through another year.

I would make a good PCOCC executive because I have always loved this club, having been a part of it since my first year at Carleton. I joined PCOCC because of my deep love for nature and the outdoors, and have been involved ever since. In my first year, I was a general member, and this year I got the opportunity to serve as a trip planner.
My involvement has taught me many valuable things I need to know in order to fulfill a PCOCC executive role. With PCOCC I learned leadership, teamwork, accountability for my role, and everything that goes into planning events: coming up with ideas, logistics such as risk management, drivers, and posters, and taking the lead when events finally do happen! I also got the chance to build on my outdoor skills and gain even more camping experience! I love PCOCC and would make a good executive because my prior experience taught me what I need to know to make things happen, and I have the passion to do it!

I would want to run the welcome barbeque, because it is a fantastic social event where we can all get to know each other and have a great time (plus, who doesn't love barbeques?) I would also want to help run the Bon Echo Thanksgiving camping trip, because it is an incredibly fun trip that gives less experienced members the opportunity to try things like camping or canoeing for the first time, or to complete a more difficult hike. One of my fellow execs this year also pitched the idea of outdoor skill-building experiences, teaching members how to do things like pitch a tent, build a fire, or paddle a canoe! I am entirely in support of that idea and would love to help her make it happen!

Million dollar idea: Sarcastic: moose repellent map and compass! Genuine: helping the team run more outdoor skill building events!

Candle scent: I would either smell like vanilla, salted caramel, or lemons :)

Stuck in the wilderness: That's why you bring a spare map and compass! But genuinely, if that happened I would use the sun and stars as a compass and walk until I find a road. And if it's too cloudy to see the sun, I wouldn't be hiking!

Favourite outdoor activities: My three favourite outdoor activities are hiking, camping, and canoeing!

Qualifications: I was a Girl Guide for three years, during one of which I was a Junior Leader helping with an Ember unit. In high school, I was a senior-student leader on the annual Grade 9 camping trip, and I've been a part of PCOCC for the past two years, first as a general member and then as a trip planner

Kiernan Lalande

Million dollar idea: Eat the rich

Candle scent: Coconut

Stuck in the wilderness: Mix the tang with pond water, chug it, then wait for the disentary to take over.

I would make a strong PCOCC Executive member because im committed to building a supportive and engaging community in a passionate field of mine. I'm organized, reliable and comfortable in taking initiative, whether that means planning events, coordinating with teams members or addressing challenges as they come up. I communicate clearly and work well with others, get things done on time and follow the deadlines and im open to new ideas. I care about representing students voices and creating opportunities that help everyone feel included and supported. As a member this year, I had a chance to see a lot of behind the scene work and interact closely with current exes. that gave me clear understanding of both the strengths of the team but also the gaps that still exist.i believe I can fill those gaps and contribute to a stronger more efficient exe team. In addition, I bring five years of leadership experience as a former air cadet.Through cadets, I learned how to lead teams, stay calm under pressure and handle wide range of real world scenario. I been responsible for guiding groups, solving unexpected problems and maintaining discipline and safety in challenges contexts. All these experiences taught me how to manage difficult issues with confidence and perfectionism - that would support my ability to serve as a PCOCC executive.

I’d love to run a mix of fun, meaningful and accessible experiences. I’m interesting in planning day trips around the NCR(hiking , bird watching , skating , amazing race ) or backpacking trip during reading or cabin trips. most importantly, I want to plan events that bring people together and help everyone feel connected.

Million dollar idea: help connect the community with nature

Candle scent: Lavender

Stuck in the wilderness: I would make a SOS sign on the ground and I would make a signal fire with the tang . I would make an animal trap for small animals with the carabiner and rope . I would use the kazoo at irregular moments like I was confused because its louder than my voice.

Favourite outdoor activities: Hiking, skiing and geocaching

Qualifications: five and a half in the air cadet program, First air CPR (exp June 2028),little bit of photography

I want to be Co-president because I thrive in collaborative leadership. I enjoy bringing people together, organize ideas, and turning them into the real results. Sharing the role means we combine strengths, support each other and lead the group more effectively. I love helping people connect with nature.Being two leaders we can plan more outings, support more members and make the club feel like a community rather than just an activity list . I want people to step outside explore and feel a sense of calm, challenge but a connection that nature gives us.

I would make a good PCOCC exec because I am interested in utilizing my graphic design skills to manage and develop our social media so that more people know about our club and information on social media accounts are well delivered :"333

I would love to lead camping and hiking (I kinda finished developing my survival backpack so I would like to test if it functions well for long duration and if my endurance for carrying it is long enough like I expect) :"333

Million dollar idea: Development of Simple Bushcraft 101 mini-booklet series

Candle scent: Mint or Sunny Spring Breeze

Stuck in the wilderness: Interesting. If I have this opportunity, I will save the listed items in my storage and start gathering raw materials from the forest to quickly build a shelter and a campfire. On the same day or the next day, I will make basic tools (e.g. hand axe, hammer stone, stone blades) from raw materials in the surrounding and look for water source(s) and food (e.g. fish, fruits, or maybe from trees/plants). On the following day, I will further gather more materials to craft more advanced tools for hunting and, if still have time, start making a better shelter and campfire.

Favourite outdoor activities: Camping, hiking, and bushcraft activities

Qualifications: Graphic Designer Director for 3 Highschool Projects, and Standard First Aid & CPR C

Stella LeBlanc

I would make a good PCOCC exec because I'm active, organised, and answer my own emails quickly, therefore would do the same for PCOCC. Also love the outdoors 🙂

I would love to lead day hiking trips, snowshoeing, cross country ski (if that's an option). Willing to help organize other trips with people with more experience.

Million dollar idea: If I had one, I wouldn't be at Carleton

Candle scent: Climbing chalk and grand ambitions

Favourite outdoor activities: Kayaking, hiking, mountain biking

Qualifications: Standard first aid, wilderness first aid, lead/ top rope certification

Victoria Guile

I would be a good exec because I am very friendly, and love to talk to new people and can have fun with everyone. I love to be involved around school and have a community like this where I am constantly meeting new faces and learning new things from others. I am very knowledgeable and experienced, both in regards to the outdoors in general and the Ottawa/Carleton community. I also volunteer for Engfrosh orientation week for new students, where I strive to give students the best first impressions of Carleton and make them feel welcome throughout all activities, just as PCOCC does for new members. I have gotten very into planning my own trips, whether that be camping trips with my friends, weekend hikes, canoe trips, or cabin trips. I am basically camping every other weekend in the warmer seasons, and hiking or doing a winter activity such as skiing and skating every weekend year round. I love to spend time outdoors and will show up to as many events as possible, along with contributing to all of our club meetings and volunteering whenever help is needed. I was also a trip planner two years ago, so I am familiar with the processes and vibe of this awesome club!

I am looking forward to planning the fall camping trips, especially a backpacking trip. I am also looking forward to planning the winter cabin trip, as I was one of the main execs in charge of organizing that last year, where it was super fun and went very smoothly. I am hoping to help plan more local and accessible activities such as weekly hikes/walks, which I think will help more students be able to get involved as they are more frequent, low commitment events.

Million dollar idea: Me as co-pres of PCOCC

Candle scent: Earl grey lavender bedtime cozy scent with dried flowers embedded, I like to believe

Stuck in the wilderness: Probably drink the orange tang, don’t think that ever really expires. Sit chill and sip that and enjoy the wilderness and maybe play with the rope if I get bored. Also I have recently grown a deep fear for moose and definitely would not have chased it.

Favourite outdoor activities: Camping, running, snowboarding

Qualifications: First Aid, was a Girl Guide for 12 years

I want to be co-pres because I have been a part of PCOCC since first year, and got especially involved in second year, which led me to become an exec in my third year where I was a trip planner. Having this prior experience, I am confident in my ability to step up my role as I understand the way the club runs and its traditional activities, planning processes, and team environment. In this current school year, I have been on co-op away from Ottawa, and have really missed being a part of the club. I had a great time being a trip planner last year, and I believe I was very involved and took the lead on a number of events. At all events, I made sure everyone was included, and tried to chat with all students. I want PCOCC to always be an extremely welcoming environment and ensure that students feel confident that they want to come back to future events. I have met some of my very good friends through being a part of this club, and want to give that same experience to others. As for the more administrative part of being co-president, I am very committed to spending time towards this club and will prioritize my role and ensure I will always balance my time here. I love to always be planning something and am very organized and schedule/ task oriented. Especially coming fresh out of a year of working on co-op, I have gained many skills around project management (or in this case events management) and how to effectively and efficiently organize a team. I will organize frequent meetings and make sure the year/semester is well planned out in advance, and that all members are clear on their roles and are excited for our future activities and have their say on everything. I have many ideas for future events, and will provide help with planning these while helping other members with any logistics needed in order for them to take the lead on those trips they want to have. I will also have a car next year and will try to go on basically every trip/event, which will help limit the issues we have with finding drivers!
